Nikon Coolpix L12 has left me spinning in COMPLETLEY?
A friend recently accidentally kicked the lens of my camera nikon coolpix L12 and at first Lens Error read, but then continued to work properly. Now, the camera turns on and the lens is stuck with the small window in the center Lens is stuck halfway open. How long is a warranty for this camera last [Best Buy] and if it is expired, how I can fix or replace, and how much it cost each? which is a better choice between the two .. repair or replacement?
Lens errors are fairly common. Typically, sand or grit interfering with the extension mechanism of the lens. Or the camera has fallen with the widespread goal. Or the camera has been turned, but the goal had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran with the goal extended … Here are some things you can do to try correct. Only seems to work for less than 50% of lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, it's worth a try: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error- on-digital-camera.html

I use a Nikon D300.
Any ideas why it might be having mirror lock up issues?
I’m shooting along fine — and the mirror just locks up and I have to fire the shutter a couple of times before it comes down — or drop the battery and it will drop.
Replacement battery maybe?
any input would be apprecaited!
