Theres a stain on my brand new digital SLR. Can anyone tell me what it is? or whether or not I should review. I live in Davao, the Philippines and I do not think there is a Nikon service center here. so probably sent to the U.S.. I bought in the U.S.. It is a sensor of this defect? "I can clean and make it go away? Is this thing has happened to her digital SLR? The stain is evident in all my pictures. even when I first got it. i just realized that this week as I was reviewing my photos. the camera is a Nikon D40x. heres a link to see the straw. http://flickr.com/photos/20982201 @ N08/sets/72157603861202629 /
I had never seen dust appear as a distinct white spot outlined. Usually, a fuzzy gray spot as shown in the links above my answer. I think what you have is a burnt pixel. Also, IIRC not replace your camera Nikon for a single pixel burned, although there may be a firmware utility that essentially ignores that pixel so no longer see the target specification. You can also easily "massage" in post processing so that has not seen. Unfortunately, the reality with high MP cameras only have a better chance that one pixel will go wrong. That's why most Camera manufacturers will not replace a camera w / a bad pixel. Some stores will probably take it again but if you bought them. HTH
Mix REVIEW!! Samsung SC-DX103 and Nikon Coolpix L18.
