Nikon D80 (sensor cleaning) service?
I had gotten a little dust on my sensor and since the first time I gave it to K & S Photo for cleaning the sensor. I received a call saying "We have done our best, but there are points a little more than recommend it sent to the Nikon Service Center "My confusion is what went wrong? I go tomorrow anyway, but the sensor cleaning is a process of stretching and what is not possible to clean the sensor of a service shop fame? Something seriously wrong with my camera? I am concerned. I can handle my camera with care to … Please let me know and what do u think ur inputs abt Nikon service? How much should I pay to have approximately? Note: Please do not suggest I can do my own cleaning and stuff I'm good to go with a clean authorized service centers.
Cleaning a mirror is one thing, I prefer to be able to blame someone else if the sensor is committed an error up or scratched. Most probably K & S is very prudent. If it were me I would be sent to Nikon. If something is wrong with the sensor, and sent him to Nikon, K & S can be said that was fine when there was. Since K & S was unable to clean to your satisfaction, I would not expect to pay the total amount your cleaning bill.
