Nikon has an outstanding reputation for producing quality digital SLR. Thousands of photographers think first Nikon. And the Nikon D3000 is a digital SLR most competitive price in the market. "I can suggest an added value due to a very good marketing campaigns.
Pentax seems to depend on just giving good quality and let the market of the product itself. Well, not totally, but its marketing is not anything close to what Nikon brings.
Therefore, how these two DSLRs really compare entry level?
There are some areas where the Pentax Kx dominates with respect to the characteristics and benefits:
* Image stabilization in the camera in the Pentax. Nikon has no image stabilizer in the camera. Instead, it is on the lens. That means you have to buy a lens with that feature. Lots of Nikon lenses are occurring with VR (vibration reduction), but many do not. However, with the Pentax, you can connect virtually any target (including the largest – up to 40 years old), and will … stabilization image.
Lenses * – all Pentax lenses, including glasses from other manufacturers of digital SLRs Pentax Pentax work in a Kx. This is not true for the Nikon D3000. It seems I've said this before, but there are other considerations. This has nothing to do with IS or VR. There is a group of lenses that are made for cameras Nikon D3000 as they only work on cameras that have a "crop" of the sensor. Basically, this means that if you eventually upgrade to a high-end Nikon, I would have to replace some or all of their lenses for nikon digital slr level.
* Video – available in HD 720p the Pentax. No video at all in the D3000.
* Next is Live View. Again, Pentax and Nikon has not.
* Everyone are interested in the price – which are very close to the cost, depending on the location and the sale is happening that day.
So is there anywhere that the D3000 is better than the Pentax Kx?
The only issue that most agree is missing in the Pentax Kx is a graph AF. That is, a design focal point visible in the viewfinder that lets you see where the camera is focusing.
Indeed, the Pentax is more of a higher order entry-level DSLR from Nikon D3000. The Nikon and Pentax Kx D5000 is a better match up because the D5000 has a similar feature set, including features missing from the D3000. But these come at a price substantially more robust.
Now it is true that flights DSLR cameras are not a dime a dozen, but you can get a good one for a reasonable price. Just make sure you are getting the features you want.
