My Nikon S8000 will not turn on?!?
It was fine, then I plugged it it to my USB port to charge, and now the entire camera will not work. It doesn’t even turn on! It doesn’t sense that it is charging, it normally gets the green ring around the ON/OFF button, but nothing.
I do have a few leading ideas: 1: The USB cord does have a little place where the rubber is peeled off and you can see the copper cord. And 2, I took out the battery and the SD card and they were both very hot. I took the battery and but it up to my fan to cool down, took a shower, had breakfast, and came back up and put them both in. Still NO! I know it is a very sensitive camera, will shut off if the battery door is open, etc., but this is crazy. I am going to get a kit for it on amazon which includes 2 batteries and a new cord. Any other ideas?
or 3. you cannot charge your camera via the usb cord, nor will it be able to do anything other than transfer pictures while it is still plugged.
You charge the battery with the supplied battery charger.
