Nikon Coolpix L14 “Distortion Conrol?”?

Hi, so I’ve been doing my research on the Nikon Coolpix L14. I know that it lasts up to 1000 with a lithium battery, its really inexpensive, really compact, 7.1MP, and NO IMAGE STABILIZATION (which is fine). Now in the Nikon site, I came across the Features section and it mentioned something about Nion L14 having “Distortion Control” as part of it’s features. Now, I just want to know what is Distortion Control? I mean it can’t be Optical Image Stabilization since it is not supported, so maybe it’s a digital stabilizer? I don’t know really so please if anyone know please tell me. Thank you very much in advance ^_^

Distortion control corrects barrel and pincushion distortions which usually appear at the extreme focal lengths (wide or telephoto ends) of a lens. These distortions are very apparent when taking pictures of straight lines or buildings when zoomed out all the way; lines seem to bulge out in the center of the picture.

Read more about image distortion here:

The option on the L14 can do one of two things (I can’t say for certain which it is since I don’t own the camera):
1. Focal length and other necessary data is saved with the image and the correction is applied in post-processing with Nikon’s included software.
2. Correction is applied in-camera after the image is taken.
