Why confused – it’s really very simple. Battery life is unpredictable because of the power needs of different cameras, how you use the camera. Do you leave it turned on between shots if there’s a minute or two between? Do you pull the batteries from the camera when you’re going to store it for a few days?
All AA batteries deliver 1.5 volts and each camera is different in its power needs.
