This Is A Review For The Canon PowerShot sd1300is Compact Digital Camera
I have been using this Canon sd1300is camera for a few YEARS now and I have enjoyed every year! I bought this when it was not too expensive and it has been working great. My favorite qualities about it are the options it gives you for messing around with effects. The few problems I have come across is again its fragility. Because it is small it is an item you don’t want to be carrying around from a string, it is something you are going to want to buy a little pouch for when you travel with it.
IT is easy to use and I have used it for multiple occasions: birthdays at home, hiking trips and everything. IT works great, the quality is superb, and even its video taking capabilities should be applauded. All in all I am very impressed with this and hope others go out and see what I and many others here are talking about.
For the price, this simply cannot be ignored. Oh and by the way, like someone else said, be sure to buy a pretty good memory card for your camera, as few come with one, or if they do its pretty small. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a good 1 gig or 2gig card so that when your camera arrives you will be able to enjoy it immediately.
My last camera was a Nikon Coolpix – until I dropped it! I needed something quick and easy and I was debating between another Nikon Coolpix and a Canon. I kept going back and forth. Since Amazon wouldn’t ship a camera to my PO Box I had to buy it local. I was looking at both of them at Fred Meyer’s and the clerk nudged me toward the Canon. I am very happy.
I use iPhoto and Photoshop so I didn’t bother loading their software and I was able to use the camera right out of the box (after I charged it, of course). I mainly use the camera for food photos on my blog. I no longer need to use Photoshop since the photos are clear and light. (My old images ALWAYS needed lightening in Photoshop.)
I think there is a manual on the CD but who cares? I’m doing fine without it. When I want to improve my photos I guess I’ll load the software and read the manual but until then everything is GREAT! I just point, focus, and click! I am love, love, loving it!
I’ve used three Canon digital digital cameras over the last several years, and my new Powershot SD1300IS is the one that excites me the most. I have been using a Powershot S5IS, but this new little guy, which I purchased for my wife initially, has become my favorite. It’s compactness and power house of features has made it the ideal camera for me. Much of what is offered by the S5IS goes unused, but the features of the SD1300IS cover all of my needs, and are easier to use.
The results have been awesome, but to be fair, I have taken some awesome pictures with my S5IS. The compactness of the S1300IS is what makes it work as a point and shoot camera. It fits handily in my pocket with room to spare, and people react differently to larger cameras with a more a negative effect on the results. The smaller cameras are hardly noticed leading to a more candid feel about the results. Maybe my wife will now have to order her own SD1300IS from Amazon.
