my cameras driver wont install?

i have a red nikon coolpix l20 and im running windows vista
when i connect it it says driver wasnt installed correctly and instead of it saying L20 it says Digital Still Camera. i tried to update the driver but it says its already up to date
i know i didnt install nikon transfer and other for nothing. can you just link me to a site thats actually HELPFUL and KNOWS my problem or where can i download the driver?
and i do not have a place to put the sd card into the computer
