What microphone I can buy with my video camera?
I have a Sanyo VPC-HD100 camcorder. Would you be able to get a microphone external to it? Like a shotgun mic? Also I have a Nikon Coolpix L110. Record high definition video at 720p and was wondering if I could get some kind of microphone better for that too. Price Range = $ 0 – $ 75. Thanks!
Read the manual. Http://us.sanyo.com:80/dynamic/product/Downloads/VPC-HD100_OM_English-26907763.pdf VPC-HD100 Pages ES-11, ES-12, ES-43. No microphone or audio input jack. Coolpix L110 http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/noprint/L110_ENnoprint.pdf pages 4, 5, 136. N audio input or microphone jack. The best thing to do (without replacing the cameras with which they have audio inputs – and make sure you have manual audio control, also – just have a microphone jack is a part of the enhanced audio … you really need manual audio control, too – especially if the audio is very strong or very low) is to an external "field audio recorder." The good ones are out of your price range, but a Zoom H2 or H4 (or something similar to Edirol, Tascam, Sony – Professional, M-Audio and many other manufacturers) to record the audio separately on the ground. When video editing it on your computer, import the audio synchronization recorder to the audio of video cameras and audio mute the video cameras. Most field recorders have built-in microphones stereo microphones also allow you to connect external … and have manual audio control.
