which digital camera is better CANON PowerShot SD1000 or NIKON Coolpix S510?
please help me!!!! ive been trying to choose a new camera i had a sony powershot but it broke so ive narrowed it down to these two, if you have any other suggestions of good cameras i should take a look at please do tell.

Definately go with the Cannon.
The Cannon has wide angle capabilities, the Nikkon doesn’t.
The Cannon has almost twice the battery life (270 vs 150).
The Cannon shutter lag is .4 while the Nikkon is 1 (extremely high).
No race here. For $30 dollars more you can get an infinitely better camera.
Now, if I am buying a subcompact I’d go with the Sony Cyber Shot DSC W80. Only $180 has the best print quality of anything out there, and has a battery life of 340 which is huge for a subcompact.
Now go and photograph.
