What lens for a Nikon D40 digital SLR for a beginner?
What lenses would you suggest for someone just starting out using a digital SLR camera? I bought a Nikon D40 and the kit comes with a 18-55mm lens. I wanted a zoom lens, so I went out and has a zoom of 55-200 mm. But now I'm thinking the 18-135mm lens can be more versatile for a beginner, and I'm thinking of exchanging lenses. I tried with 18-200mm. But the weight of the D40 camera body is relatively small and lightweight. And the 18-200mm lens is a little big for the camera and I thought that caused the camera to feel very heavy and balance. I do not want to get the 18-135mm lens, plus others. I do not want to carry on Nikon lenses. I'm looking at the Nikon D40 as a camera level, while I learn more about photography and cameras. I'm convinced that I will stay with Nikon. After a while I may switch to Canon. Thoughts? Comments? Comments?
