I do not know if I could handle just going to a megapixel Nikon D40 for less (about 6). Should I go to the D80 or D40x. I like the body and the weight of the D40x, but the D80 has better benefits and costs much more. Help! Both are DSLRs Or should I go with an Olympus? The OLYMPUS E-410 EVOLT
I have the D40x and I personally think it has more than enough megapixels. With a mega-pixel DSLR really not so important as a point and shoot. Yes, they are important, but when taking into account the fact that you can change lenses … miss mega-pixels, but does not lose quality. One thing important consideration is price. Play with a lot of cameras and find you like before buying. Unless you can afford to spend another $ next year 1000 in a new camera, think before you buy. You may want to spring for the D80 – but can afford – and * * do we need? What are you using the camera? If it's just personal use, the D40x should be sufficient. If you are looking to use if you professionally, you may want to spring for D80
