nikon d5000 dslr prices
Trying to decide between the nikon d3000 and D5000?

This would be my first DSLR. I consider myself to be "good with a camera," although this would be my first "real camera". I put little value in HD video. I put a value on the live view because it may be useful at times, but I prefer the viewfinder. My big question is whether I'll get truly better night shots (photos taken at night outdoors or indoors in low light shots) to acquire the D5000. The price difference is about $ 200 for what I want worth the time and I get conflicting comments regarding the benefits of high ISO sensitivity, once you get past the 1600 range !?!?!? your thoughts? In addition, any off camera trusted Web sites that can recommend? I found the D3000 from $ 589 w the 18-55 VR and 55-200 VR, and the D5000 with the same lenses for $ 789. Definitely appreciate your detailed answers and opinions. I get it right!

Go here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=nikon_d3000 2Cnikon_d5000% & show = all Click those on "Read owner opinions" and see what kind of people the image quality in the upper D5000. This is a very small sample of the views and comments non-professionals. Click "Our thorough review" for each camera, too. They have a gallery of samples for D5000 yet but you can watch the tests and compare. Open two copies of your browser and put the D3000 test high ISO http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond3000/page23.asp in a window and the D5000 test high ISO in http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond5000/page30 others. asp Now you can switch between the windows and make an AB comparison for yourself. Although the test images are cut from the same study, standardized configuration, it is unfortunate that not choose to display the exact same crop the original image, but this is what you do. Click on a sample D3000 and will expand to show the whole scene. Click it again and it will display full size. Repeat this for the sample D5000. Switching between the windows and move to match the different parts of the image and compare. It is also unfortunate (for you) who decided to change his dpreview study test standard for this type of cameras. You can see various parts of the gray scale or you can look at the bottle of martini or a bottle of Bailey's for you to compare apples to apples. Personally, I think the quality of the image on the D5000 is significantly better in the higher ISO levels. At the time of up to ISO 3200, actually no doubt about it. The D5000 easily beats the D3000. In fact, I'd say the D5000 at ISO 6400 even better than the D3000 ISO 3200 and the D3000 does not even offer ISO 6400. This would suggest (very) to me that the D5000 will do better in low light. Oh snap. That could have saved both a lot of trouble. The D5000 has a sensor D3000 CMOS and CCD has a sensor. Therein lies the difference with its performance in low light. The CCD CMOS expired on all the time. Prices are within the "Too good to be true "category for me. Dreams about a couple hundred dollars too low. Check to make sure you are getting a U.S. team warrantied 100% everything that normally comes from the factory. I deal almost exclusively with B & H for equipment and have never had a problem. Go to their page and look at the kit D5000, for example, and scroll down a bit and look to the right to view "What's in the box. Make sure any dealer that you are giving check the full kit. Some are known to take the normally include fixtures from the box and then sell them to you at inflated prices. For example, the camera is worthless without a battery. Nikon included in the kit. A spare battery would cost $ 38.79 Nikon from B & H. I've seen other dealers who sells you the battery that "stole" from the kit of nearly $ 100! Here is the link for the full kit D5000: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/628096-REG/Nikon__D5000_Digital_SLR_Camera.html Here is the link to the kit D3000 with a lens http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/635660-REG/Nikon_25462_D3000_SLR_Digital_Camera.html # specifications that you can do click on kits for the pricing, but do not have that whole "What's in the list box. Always check an on-grade of an online merchant http://www.resellerrating.com before buying.
