Should I get a high-end digital camera or SLR?
I'm getting my wife a new camera for our 5 year anniversary. We have a month old baby of 16, and is likely to have more children at some point. We need a camera to take pictures in "explosions" (To capture those moments smile), produce good quality images, and with a good zoom. I thought about going the SLR route, but I'm not sure if that is what I have to do or not. Any photography people want to help? Any suggestions on what camera to get (I have to spend $ 900, but the SLR camera, Nikon is the D5000, I am considering the kit lens with two runs or less in that price)?
