What you need depends on what you are doing with the camera. I can use a Tamrac bag that has room for 2 SLR, a pair of glasses and all gadgets that I carry – flash drives, card readers, cables, batteries, chargers, etc. The lenses you find out given the type of work you are doing. I have the Rebel XS and kit lens. I also bought a Tamron 18-200 (my work horse) and a Canon 75-300. But you later decide you really need. The first thing you should probably get extra memory cards and extra batteries would. If the batteries are like mine, not made by Nikon, but Nikon.
