I have really wanted to buy a new lens for my Nikon DX format D7000. Now I've found with G 50 mm F/1.8 new available here in a couple of weeks. Uhh, no one has tried yet? How do you think about it? Is it worth the price or do you think the old 50mm f/1.8 D is better? I heard some people say the 50mm F/1.8 D can focus faster than the 50 mm F/1.8 G. Is it true? Thanks!

As for AF speed, I do not that no evidence yet for the 1.8D vs. G. It is true that the age of 50 mm f/1.4D is a bit faster than f/1.4G.
