Im thinking of getting a Fuji S9100 is good?

IM planning to get a Fuji S9100 prosumer digital camera, with a 28mm to 300mm lens, but its purpose is not interchangeable, has the look, feel and look of a DSLR, is it a good buy, worth the money, a reasonable price, instead of getting a Canon 350D or 400D or a Nikon D70s or Pentax K100D. is a good alternative to a digital SLR camera, instant messaging intended to be used for shooting events like weddings, portraits and some magazines, right? has a hot shoe, I'm thinking of getting a flash, what flash would be compatible with it, TTL, Zoom, etc.. work would be a Nikon Speedlight with all the functionality of this camera? I'll get this or get a DSLR digital instead. du you think?

If you want a prosumer camera, there are better options. This review of the S9100 are some: http://reviews.cnet.com/Fujifilm_FinePix_S9100/4505-6501_7-32040457.html But for parties and weddings, a DSLR would be a better choice anyway. These are low light situations where you actually can use the best performance of an SLR AF digital can be done without the shutter lag of a prosumer, and do not really need the 1/10th second delay, an electronic viewfinder. You also get options more advanced flash and better high ISO quality (if you want to leave the flash off, or just use some fill flash in low light). Then, with pictures, a digital SLR will give you much better bokeh. In all, that's a long list of advantages. What we leave is the ability to record video and a clever rotating screen to view Prior in vivo. I used to use a 35mm camera film myself, and when I bought a digital prosumer cursed thing. It was great for sunny landscapes, but only trash everything else. This spring I finally bought a DSLR and retired from my film camera. The digital SLR models you are considering are all pretty good. I choose the 350D or D70s, based on whatever feels better in your hands. The extra money for the 400D better spent on lenses, and the K100D is a pretty basic model. For lenses, I like the Nikon 18-70mm ($ 310) and the Canon 17-85mm ($ 500). Both brands also make a good 50mm f/1.8 (<$ 100) for low light / portrait. You can probably find those on eBay, too.
