No digital SLR camera nikon d40x and D80 uses the same lens? Can D80 use more lens D40x?
I know the D40x can only use AF-S and AF-I lens. What about the D80, you can use more lens? I'm looking for that you can use most Nikon lenses.
From http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/NikonD40X/page2.asp Type G or D AF Nikkor AF-S •, AF-I – All functions supported • Other Type G or D AF Nikkor – All functions supported except autofocus • PC Micro-Nikkor 85mm f/2.8D – Can only be used in M mode, all other functions except autofocus • Other AF Nikkor * 2/AI-P Nikkor – All functions supported except autofocus and 3D Color Matrix Metering II • Non-CPU – Can be used in mode M, but exposure meter does not work, the electronic rangefinder can be used if maximum aperture is f/5.6 or faster • IX Nikkor – can not be used and http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/NikonD80/page2.asp • DX Nikkor: All functions supported • Type G or D AF Nikkor: All functions supported • Micro Nikkor 85mm F2.8D: All functions supported except autofocus and some ways Exposure • Other AF Nikkor * 2: All functions supported except 3D color matrix metering, i-TTL balanced fill-fl ash for digital SLR • Non-CPU: can be used in exposure mode M, but exposure meter does not function; Electronic rangefinder can be used if maximum aperture is f/5.6 or more faster * 1 IX Nikkor lenses can not be used * 2 Excluding lenses for F3AF So basically the D80 has better compatibility compared with the D40x, but you can use lenses are not AF-S and AF-I with the D40x, but you can not use auto focus with it.
