What would be the best for me? A cheaper digital SLR or a good digital camera?
I have a film camera Nikon 38-90mm zoom lens and a Sony Handycam HC42 (MiniDV, an MP yet). He now plans a digital camera. I can afford about $ 500, but looking for a cheaper one. What better for me? A lower end digital SLR (Kodak, etc) or a good digital camera (~ 5MP Nikon / Canon)? I can use the camera for my personal use (family photo, travel, photo etc).
