I have a Nikon D60 and I'm taking pictures of an MMA fight. I can not use flash and am using only lenses is not enough. what lens should I get? I have this Nikon lens Nikkor AF-s DX 55-200mm 1:4-5.6 VR g ed nikon af-s dx nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5 – 5.6G VR please help
I have no real answer, which I love a fast lens. In order to configure your description, I think we need more of the camera. Fights can be very problematic, dark backgrounds, from people. can quickly become a nightmare. The problem is that the camera has a small sensor, but what makes it worse is the lens reduces the speed of the wind. Sure you can get shot, but you're going to take the hi iso so that its end with nothing but high ISO noise. The small sensor and lens are working against you in this game. I guess you're not ready for a full frame camera at the moment, so honestly – the reality leaves you with only one dilemmaa way to solve this. You're going to have to get more light than its look. I do not care how long or short they are, I'm thinking is, rate of f2, f2.8 f1.4 etc .. The DX format is also an obstacle, but not the real problem here. I guarantee you will not be happy with 4-5.6 and 3.5 to 5.6 starts. What your description is difficult to start, a slow lens will only bring disappointment. This is my best advice, fork over some real money and buy a 70-200 f2.8 constant.
