I really want to buy a digital SLR?
Ok I currently own a Canon Powershot S3 IS – and I really like to buy a digital SLR. I am looking for a Nikon D40. I am willing to sell my iPod and my current camera and some money saved to buy the D40 with standard kit lens, but my dad is a little hesitant to say that a digital SLR is not really that much better … I do not agree, any idea to make a better argument for me? Or a Powershot S3 be too different from D40? I love digital SLR, I've used em before, they feel better, more customizable, the list goes on.
Other 'more cheap 'DSLR options out there? I saw the D40 dollarsish 450 at Amazon with a kit of lenses. 600 is my maximum'm guessing … Thanks for any ideas! Sorry, – Do you think that buying a digital SLR is a good idea?
AS photacce said the D40 will give you a much bigger sensor. A 6 megapixel digital SLR will give you the ability to take better pictures than a 10MP point and shoot. A bigger sensor = more light to each pixel = best color saturation, better dynamic wide, greater geometric accuracy and lower noise. The DSLR will also give a better measure, the ability to have more control over your photos as learn to control the camera, the ability to change lenses to meet your needs, the ability to shoot in RAW and leanred skills there, and accessories achieved it will be capable of being used by a higher level for Nikon if you stay with photography. Hope this helps
