How many times the EN-EL3 rechargeable Li-ion battery will be charged?
The one supplied with the Nikon D90.
The book says 400, but I've been using EN-EL3e batteries in my DSLR since its introduction with the D200. The verification of the battery in the camera menu Photo shows are new. Nikon says that if you do not let it wear out completely and then sit around days that will last a long, long time if you only recharge using the Nikon charger. Others may 1) battery overheating or overcharging it. Both conditions reduce the life of any rechargeable Li-ion My old Nikon D100 is still using the original EN-EL3 batteries and gives me full use of them … like when the new rule, unless the battery is less than half a charge, not recharged before use. I have a battery grip, so I always have two batteries on board, so do not worry. For a great session I will charge the battery during lowest night, but since the D300 gives me over 2000 pictures with the battery grip, I would stay out of space on my memory card before I would to charge my batteries do not use Live View. It eats battery power alive. Always connect the camera to the mains if I use the live view for shooting products or attach to a telescope or something.
