What do you think of the Nikon F5 Kodak dcs620?
I found a person who is selling his Nikon F5 camera dcs620. I saw the camera. exterior looks very good, some minor scratches and scrapes. She did not notice any scratches or dust and fungus in the viewfinder. All controls and buttons seem to be working quite well. He is asking $ 350 for the body. Could any of you can help me decide if it is a good buy or not, and there is anything to worry about before buy? Thank u and happy new year.
In its day (1999), was the only digital SLR available that use Nikon lenses. For a camera 2 MP sensor that is ten years, I'd say $ 50 would be more in line with what to get. It has no commercial value, in any case, could consider a formation of a digital camera. For another $ 50 can buy a brand new Nikon D40 with a 6 MP sensor and a lens of 18-55 mm. You have to know how is used. It was that kind of sports or news photographer .. if so, the number of cycles of filling may be the way over 200,000 and by the end of his life without having to rebuild the Nikon. I'd offer him $ 50 if you include all memory cards and a lens and if you have an old laptop that has a PCMCIA slot. The another drawback is the memory used. The Kodak DCS 620 uses an unused memory, the PCMCIA (2 x type II / 1 x type III), which on a good day was very expensive and finding some today would be a real challenge. I did a Yahoo Search and could not find one, except for sale on eBay … a 16 MB for $ 15. I do not know how many photos you can get on that card, but probably no more than 20 shots in RAW. Where you'll find a plug-in for converting RAW files to JPEG or TIFF Kodak is anyones guess. Here is the list of features and specifications for the camera. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Kodak/kodak_dcs620. asp
