I have many Nikon lenses 35mm old I used in my F and EF. If I buy a Nikon D300, "I can use these old lenses?

My old man died Digital Fuji, and I'm looking to upgrade to a digital SLR. Despite all that I have Nikon lenses are manual focus, the crystal of these decades' old lenses Nikon is fantastic. Given the quality (and the fact that already possess them) I would use in a modern day digital SLR Nikon. I understand the mountains are the same, so these old lenses will connect without problems … my concern is with measurement. How does a Nikon D300 meters with these old lenses? For the record, I have a 28mm, 50mm, 135mm, 200mm and 80mm a 35. All Nikon lenses are no things in the secondary market. I have had the 35-80mm ~ 25 years, all the other lenses were purchased in 1969. I was willing to pull the trigger on a Canon 40D, but then thought of all these lenses have not been out of my camera bag in 15-20 years. All comments is greatly appreciated!

A Nikon D300 works perfectly with any Nikon AF, AF-I lens AF-S, G, and Virtual Reality. It will accept and meter with manual focus all AI, AI-s, or converted AI lens. Http: / / www.kenrockwell.com / nikon / compatibility-lens.htm I know this for sure because I have used several Nikon and 3rd party manual focus lenses from my older 35mm cameras in my D200. With manual Nikon mount lenses, use the menu on the camera to set the type of lens, and maximum aperture. From there, the D300 takes over and meters well. That's one of the wonders of the Nikon system. Lenses for decades will be assembled and operated to perfection, allowing you to use glass come from the classical heritage.
