Can anyone help me understand the basics of shutter speed and how to read the correct settings?

I've searched the forum after forum on the shutter speed and people always give me examples of fractions, however, in my Nikon D80 is read differently. Bulb goes well then I have … 3rd, 25 ", 2nd, 15", 13 ", 1st, 8", 6 ", 5", 4 ", 3", 2.5 ", 2", 1.6 " 1.3 ", 1" and then goes … 1.3, 1.6, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1st and all the way to my F-Stop 4ooo F 3.5 and F 22 When the number appears before a signal "what does that mean? I have no manual and only ask a book about the Nikon D80 on-line. Thanks for any help.

A number with a "half second set. A number without a middle" fractions of a second, so 30 = a 30 = 30 second exposure to 1 / 30 seconds Not all exposure 'step' in the selection of the shutter speed is a whole 'stop' in terms of light (a "stop" is double or half light, and may refer to changes in the opening, shutter speed or ISO). Your camera is able to select half or third stops. As a reference, it stops at Plenary shutter speed – 1 / 4000, 1 / 2000, 1 / 1000, 1 / 500, 1 / 250, 1 / 125, 1 / 60, 1 / 30, 1 / 15, 1 / 8, 1 / 4 , 1 / 2, 1, 2 "4" 8 "15" 30 ", etc. All stops on the aperture – f1.4, f2, f2.8, f4, F5.6, f8, f11, F16, F22, F32 – Again, most cameras are able to select between the values of these stops as a whole (half or one third stop).
