Does anyone know what would happen if I had to put a digital single-lens 35mm SLR?
I'm not going to do this, do not want to ruin my camera body and / or lens, but I was wondering. I have a Nikon D50 and Nikon N65. The D50 comes with an 18-55 3.5-5.6 mm DX lens. All my other lenses I use on my two cameras, but he can not. I was wondering.
The digital Nikon DX lenses can be used without damaging the newest Nikon 35mm SLR (do not try on an old camera manual focus). The disadvantage is that you may lose some features, such as VR, AF-S autofocus, capacity meter, or the ability to select aperture (lens G without ring opening), depending on the camera. The N65 should be able to use any autofocus lens recently, see here for details: http://www.nikonians.org/html/resources/nikon_articles/other/compatibility.html Given that, however, most DX lenses have a smaller image sensor for digital, so you will see bullet or dark corners in the images. Put the lens of your camera and you should see this in the viewfinder. Thus, lenses can be used, but may or may not like the effect! One exception, however, is 12-24 f / 4 DX, this wide angle can be used without vignette about 18 mm to 24 mm film camera. It does not harm the camera, and is very useful when we need a wide angle, but just happen to have the DX lens around!
