Sigma dSLR Macro Lens on a Nikon film SLR?
I currently have the Nikon N80 film SLR camera and wondered if I could use Sigma macro lens dSLR it. This is the lens I'm looking at: http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-50mm-Macro-Nikon-Cameras/dp/B0002P19Q2/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241744118&sr=8-4 I know that this objective can be used with Nikon dSLR, but do not know if the majority of dSLR lenses can be used in an SLR camera. Thank you so much!
Although Crim Liar usually pretty good in this field, missed the boat here. The Sigma 50mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro function as expected on your N80, no surprises. Sigma Lenses with "DG" designation have an extra coating applied to the rear of the lens to avoid reflections in the mirror hot, who calls Digital ghosting. The mirror surface reflects much more than the film, and can cause strange artifacts in a picture when the image bounces off the mirror, and then out the rear element of the lens, and then into the picture. Sigma lenses with the designation "DC" are designed for crop sensor SLR digital cameras. The 50 mm lens is not a DC, it is designed for the frame of 35 mm.
