Flashless delete photos in Nikon D40?
Right now I have the kit lens and the Nikkor 18-200 AF-S VR. I'm a little disappointed with the clarity of the photos flashless. Is there anything I can do to improve the sharpness by adjusting the camera? Do I need a new target? Or does this camera not only take sharp pictures without flash? I just got it today, so I can use allll the help it can get!
You already have a lens the image stabalized. The VR stands for vibration reduction. Be sure this is scaring on when slow shutter speeds. As already published, you can not drop the speed shutter too far below its focal length, or you will blur. Virtual reality can be very helpful, but can not work miracles. On the "Clear" I assume you mean sharp pictures without flash. The issue of clarity is all based on the shutter speed. If you hand holding the camera, keep the shutter speed to blur. You can try to put the camera in shutter priority mode. I think this is called S in the Nikon. Adjust your speed to 1 / 150. Turn VR. This should be fast enough for sharp pictures at all focal ranges, although it will cut close to the end of 200 mm. With the camera S mode, the camera automatically chooses the best start of the lighting conditions. If the gap is still too small to allow light sufficient to produce a correct exposure, you should see a warning light flashes on the display underexposure. Your only option then is to start lifting ISO speed. Try not to go longer than necessary, as ugly can add noise in the picture at high ISO, but so you can get pictures in low light without flash.
