I can not make any sense to speak of this camera (- Nikon D40)?
Basically, I am interested in buying a Nikon D40, but I know absolutely anything about the cameras, and to be honest its not for me. You are looking at just the lens. "Nikon AF example D40/D40x" means "this lens autofocus on the D40 or D40x, if you already have one, and if you do not already have one, maybe you should buy one, because it is a good camera pretty.
