What is the best teleconverter for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G AF-S VR II ED-IF Zoom-Nikkor lens?
I have no $ 7,000 for a prime 400, so I want a good long-range teleconverter for my Nikon D80, any suggestions for a teleconverter for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G AF-S VR II ED-IF Zoom-Nikkor lens? Im assuming which in turn, my 70-200 on a 340? so that only a little further to reach my 70-300mm 5.6? or would it be better for me just to use my 70-300mm 5.6? and not spend the $ 400 on a 2.8 teleconverter 2x is too dark I heard, 1.4 isn't enough time, but 1.7x is perfect, any suggestions would be great!
The first thing to consider is the loss of f-stops using a teleconverter. A 1.7x teleconverter will make your f2.8 performed as if the opening was set at f4.76. A teleconverter X 2.0 will make your f2.8 perform as if the opening was set at F5.6. The site lists the Nikon TC-17E II 1.7x teleconverter not have limitations when used with 70-200mm f2.8-200mm or 80 f2.8. Not compatible with 70-300mm F5.6 lens. The TC-20E II and TC-20E 2.0X tele III have no limitations when used with any of the f2.8 zoom. Not supported with 70-300mm F5.6 lens. The TC-20E II or III will make your lens 70-200mm 140-400mm lens. If your application is outdoors in a day of loss reasonably bright 2 aperture stop should not be a problem. The use of a tripod is highly recommended.
