What one is better?
And about how much zoom is that?
Thanks so much!
The VR lens has vibration reduction which means you can hand hold the camera at slower shutter speeds.
How much “zoom” is that?
It does not matter. The 55-200 mm starts where your current lens ends (55 mm) and continues to 200 mm, the focal length you will enjoy taking action, sports and some wildlife shots.
There is a new Nikkor lens you may like, if you really like shooting wildlife. That is the Nikkor 55-300 mm lens.
While picking a P&S camera with the largest zoom range is important because you cannot change lenses, a dSLR camera uses interchangeable lenses, so zoom range is no longer important and does not tell you anything about the lens.
I have two, 2x zooms I use on my Nikon dSLR. One is a 12-24 mm and the other is a 200-400 mm lens. As you can see, both are very, very different when it comes to the angle of view each produces. The 12-24 mm is used for shooting amazing landscapes. The 200-400 mm is used for shooting sports, action and wildlife
