DSLR: Canon Rebel XS vs Nikon D60?
Bu I'm looking for a digital SLR camera, especially the Canon Rebel XS as I am just an amateur photographer and want to start with such a costly camera. I look at other types of digital SLR cameras like the Nikon D60. Any idea about the Rebel XS and D60? Which is better? ALSO, please suggest other digital SLR cameras that you think is worth less than $ 700. What I look for in a camera is worth at least 10 MP, long-focus adjustment (I love the slow shutter speed), fast shutter speed also manageable menu is not complicated, easy to hold. Despite growing a bit old, the D40 is a camera perfectly fine for a beginner (I say even better the D40 or D60). The new D40 is $ 472.00 including free shipping. Also consider the D3000 in place ($ 585.00 including free shipping from adorama.com). The D3000 is a camera much easier for a beginner (it has a nice guide function), not to mention that just came out in the market which will lead out the best resale value. Moreover, the purpose of the kit D3000 is a VR lens, while the D40 kit lens does not have the technology to reduce vibration with what the D3000 even better value. The Canon XS (1000D) for about $ 525.00 the kit and XSi (450D) about $ 630.00 for the kit, you get a number of features little more for your money, but I always preferred the Nikon, so I'm a slightly biased towards them. If you really like the Canon, I recommend the XSi (450D). Check out this link for three of a comparison chart between the big XSi, XS (1000D) and XTi (400D). Some people, like Live View, but a real photographer Live View is something of a trick and keeps open the blinds to let in more dirt on the sensor.
