Nikon SB600 and 800 remote flash options?
So here is my creation: I have a SB 600, SB 800, and an old Vivitar 2800 Flash a trigger remote flash (which will go out every time another flash fires). I'm trying to activate the 600 and 800 remotely using my camera's flash. I achieve the fine of 800 to fire (SU-4 mode), but the 600 is giving me a lot of problems. I put the 600 to wireless flash mode, but you fire a second or so later and occurs only if the 800 is set as the master. Is there any way to fire the 600 without having the 800 is the master. I want to set the Vivitar as a backlight, 800 as a light 3 / 4 front and 600 as part or hair light. Is it necessary to add more equipment or can with what I have? Thank you.
You did not say what the camera you have. Some Nikon can use the built-in flash as commander of some can not. If the speed of light from the camera can act as a commander then you can set both the SB800 and SB 600 off camera if the camera does not have to use the SB 800 as the commander.
