Nikon SB600 and 800 remote flash options?

So here is my creation: I have a SB 600, SB 800, and an old Vivitar 2800 Flash a trigger remote flash (which will go out every time another flash fires). I'm trying to activate the 600 and 800 remotely using my camera's flash. I achieve the fine of 800 to fire (SU-4 mode), but the 600 is giving me a lot of problems. I put the 600 to wireless flash mode, but you fire a second or so later and occurs only if the 800 is set as the master. Is there any way to fire the 600 without having the 800 is the master. I want to set the Vivitar as a backlight, 800 as a light 3 / 4 front and 600 as part or hair light. Is it necessary to add more equipment or can with what I have? Thank you.

You did not say what the camera you have. Some Nikon can use the built-in flash as commander of some can not. If the speed of light from the camera can act as a commander then you can set both the SB800 and SB 600 off camera if the camera does not have to use the SB 800 as the commander. Etihad way you can make Wireless Lighting with what you have and it works quite well. As the commander or the SB800 Speedlight if you have a built in command mode can be set for different power levels flash without flash even with the remote controls to do all the lighting. Whatever the commander uses preflash will be a number of communication between the camera and flash so that it can make it appear that it is laying off a few seconds later. We also want to check the flash setting, and make sure that states, in part rear curtain. Rear curtain flash is not the end of the exposure of the front. As for your Vivitar would have to make an inquiry, but some older can be compensated by the pre-flash and fire before they are supposed to. go to Nikon USA and use the tutorial on the CLS is also an excel;; ENT book "Creative Lighting System Nikon – Digital Field Guide" by J.
