Do I need an active wireless D90?

Hey guys, I'm getting into the Strobist techniques and wanted to know if I need to active wireless (ie, cactus, pocket wizard) If I have a D90. I am under the impression that I use the pop-up flash as a driver if I use Nikon strobes correct? Is it only needs these triggers if I use 3rd party stuff? Thanks for your time =]

If you stick the flash from Nikon will not need a trigger to to pass ie a Alienbee or similar. If you stuck with the line of Nikon (preferably the SB600 or 800), will be fine. If you find yourself needing more light strong in the front, you'll need an SB800 if you do not want a flash front, you will need a trigger.
