What are the advantages of taking photos in RAW. I have photoshop CS3 and a Nikon D40. Any advice?
Im looking to improve my images I know that RAW is a way to do this as I read a lot of people saying that there is more flexability to adjust images when they have been shot RAW. So how I can enjoy the fact that I can shoot in this style. You can probably say I'm very new to photoshop and both D SLR.
It is true that the RAW format offers much more flexibility. When shooting in RAW format, the picture is compressed, as would be in JPG format. In addition, your camera does not apply any kind of presets, such as contrast, hue / saturation, etc. You can edit it in CS3. Unless you're really serious about photography, and intention to make extra-large copies, can best adapt to shoot in JPG format, since RAW files are HUGE!
