why do none of my videos work properly in ANY movie maker? do they need to be formatted? plz help!! 10 points!?

first i used Windows Movie Maker and when inported videos from my camera into the storyboard they never play right on the little screen, theyre all jumpy and they skip and the audio doesnt match the visual.
so i thought WMM was messed up and i downloaded various other programs but none of my videos play proplerly in the storyboards, therefore i cant edit them or anything cos theyre too messed up!
im begining to think its something wrong with my camera.. its a Nikon Coolpix S52c.. and when i import them they come up as DSCN****.ASI… do they need to be formatted?

OK ALright hmn… Alright Ok follow these points!

1. The file your using from the camera maybe of a different type and may not be compatible with windows movie maker.

2.There is a chance your pc may be slow (too little RAM) or your running a lot of progrma son the computer at the same time your playing.

3. Use Cyberlink Power Director for editing videos.

4.If your using vista with little ram it can make playback slower than xp as it tends to crash more you know what i mean,

I think the solution is that convert you video into a different format and then try playing them.

I hope this helps because tats all in my mind right now at this moment and you know what i would have fixed this if i were at your home.

The Nikon s52 and s52c
