How do you prevent underexposure of the sky in a digital SLR (Nikon D80)?

I'm always good when photographing a blue sky, a gray sky, but always gives me problems (clouds and sky.) Here's a link to a picture of me with this problem: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/56496864/ I assume a faster shutter speed and lower ISO would work, but have not achieved satisfactory results. Any help would be appreciated! :)

The bridge is located in Prague. With gray skies not much to do besides add a graduated filter as mentioned by gryphon1911. Get the type of place to have "soft edges", because the border "hard" can be dramatic. The links below are samples from view, there are other cheaper but we must look at the different and see how much you want to spend. I have my hand to adjust it where I want without using a holder, but you can get one of those if you need one. http://www.bhphotovideo http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/100362-REG/Hitech_HT1407_4x5_Graduated_Neutral_Density.html. Where com/c/product/100494-REG/Hitech_HT1583_4x5_Combination_Graduated_Sunset.html gray skies outside, and that the images have a tendency to go "flat" to try to stay far from the heavens as in their photos this way, average viewer will see something else and not notice the sky. Hope this helps, Kevin
