Buying a digital camera – audio and video meanings?

So, I’m about to buy a digital camera, only to be used for video, really (basically youtube videos and high school film projects)
But I’m tres tres confused by these weird avi78mp30fps 4000×500 things…

So, the camera I’m eyeing is a Nikon Coolpix, 180 bucks… but I’ve got a few questions for the camera experts out there =]]

1)It records “720 HD movies” also VGA;320…is that good? compatible with windows movie maker/computer/youtube?

2)It’s sound quality is “Stereo”… so does that mean you can hear the audio on the actual camera, as well as on the computer? [ and how is Stereo different than Mono ? ]

THANKYOUTHANKYOU!~

1) You can record 720p (HD video) or 320 VGA (standard definition). Movie Maker will not work with HD video. It would have to be converted first. (The link below has many, some are free).

2) The type of sound reproduction available on the camera is stereo. Stereo is two channels (Left and right). Mono is single channel (one side).

Birds and The Rain, Nikon Coolpix P100 , FULL HD Audio AAC stereo
