nikon 50mm F1.4 AF-D or AF-S?
I have a D200 and, eventually, perhaps D700 updated to a comprehensive framework. I am looking to buy a 50mm lens and ultra sharp, clean images are of great importance which brings me to my question. Is there a noticeable difference in image quality between an AF-D and AF-S? Also physically I think the AF-S has a focus ring to the AF-D does not, is this correct?
Anyone who works with his D200 and great images will clear both have the ability to manual focus. The AFS has a silent wave motor in the lens when the AFD has to be a focus motor in the camera body or it will not autofocus. Thus, the AFS autofocus with the D60 / D40/D40x. The AFD does not autofocus in cameras. All lenses also d AFs lenses all objectives d s no camera lenses depending AFs when it did have a switch on the barrel that say either "A" and "M" or "A" and "A / M" those who have the second you can manually focus without moving the configuration change automatically, others you have to move the switch to manual focus if looking to move up to a D700 probably most important to you is whether the lens is a DX or FX lens. DX lenses are made to the APSC sensor as the D200 has. FX lenses are made for full frame SLR as the D700. A DX lens will still work well on a D700, but you will get the most from the full frame sensor
